• "Thanks to Annie and Millie's place we will always be able to keep Lexi close to us! We will forever be grateful for all of your help!"

    - S&J, after receiving veterinary care, euthanasia and private cremation for their beloved Lexi, who's ashes S&J are now able to keep close.

  • Leslie Irvine, author of "My Dog Always Eats First" joins the Annie and Millie's Place Board of Directors.

Leslie Irvine breaks new ground in the study of homelessness by investigating the frequently noticed, yet underexplored, role that animals play in the lives of homeless people. Irvine conducted interviews on street corners, in shelters, even at highway underpasses, to provide insights into the benefits and liabilities that animals have for the homeless. She also weighs the perspectives of social service workers, veterinarians, and local communities. Her work provides a new way of looking at both the meaning of animal companionship and the concept of home itself. We are honored to have her expertise on our Board!

Thank you, Mrs. Longmont!

Recently, Kristen sat down with Mrs. Longmont, Michelle Deines. We are thankful for her support and the opportunity to tell our story!

LESLIE IRVINE, Board Member and author of My Dog Always Eats First, is helping the research on the tragic loss of pets during Boulder County’s Marshall Fire. This research is informing the creation of a pet rescue app. The PetHelp&Rescue app will connect trusted contacts who can rescue pets while owners are not at home. How are we showing up locally? Watch here!

Big thanks to Longmont Public Media for helping us tell our story and share how we are showing up in Longmont. Shout out to Andy from HOPE for Longmont for joining us!

We’re so excited to become a PetSmart Charities grantee! Grant funds will go directly toward helping pets and those who love them through the Preserving Families grant! Thanks to your donations at PetSmart stores, we’re able to make an even bigger difference for families with pets in our community.

“Pets are even more important to their families during times of crises,” said Sarah Ocampo, Community Grants Manager at PetSmart Charities. “Considering the needs of pets helps sustain the love and comfort they give that helps people cope. We’re proud to support Annie and Millie’s Place and their efforts to keep pets and people together when they need each other most.”
